How to properly measure a dog?
Follow the instructions below and complete the information with measurement when placing an order. Please measure carefully.
Use a cloth measuring tape or piece of rope then measure the rope. You want the tape or rope snug but not tight. Measure the dog not the fur.
Dog needs to be in standing position.
Measurement 1:
Start at A , from breastbone located under the throat of the dog (you can feel this as an indentation below the dog's throat). Pull the tape snugly along the dog's neck to B (at the place where neck ends, before withers). Run your hand along the back of the dog's neck until you feel the bony shoulder area in the center of his back. You need to measure from the center of the top of the breastbone to the center of the back in front of the shoulder area, one side.
Don't measure all the way around the dog's neck because you'll increase the potential for error. Measure this 2-3 times and then record this.
Measurement 2:
You need to measure from the front of the shoulder area to the behind withers or starting point of the girth (chest). Please be careful this ends horizontally just behind elbows.
Measurement 3:
The Girth (or Chest) measurement is taken all the way around the biggest part of your dog's rib-cage, generally just behind the withers (point C) down and around just behind the front legs (point D) and back up the other side to point C .
Measurement 4:
Start at A and measure to D (at the top of the breastbone located under the throat of the dog all the way between front legs to the point where you are two fingers behind the front legs - to avoid rubbing armpits)
